Sunday 29th August

Fishing is still pretty poor. We had a couple of days in the week when a fair number of mackeral were caught but the water has now coloured up and they have gone. We have seen a couple of small bass and whiting, the odd dab and a few doggies and pouting. On Saturday a codling of 1 1/2 lb was landed on the bottom deck and at 8p.m. yesterday evening, an angler fishing the third shelter caught a cod which tipped the scales at just under 8 lb. Let's hope it's a sign of things to come
