Fishing Report

Wednesday 25th January

We are still seeing plenty of whiting and dabs and last weekend a couple of small codling were landed.
Today Dave Lawrence went out in his boat and dragged an area off the Deal and Walmer side of the deck. Anyone wishing to buy back their weights at a reasonable price should contact Dave on the beach.

A summary of the years fishing

2011 started in the usual quiet way with just a few small pouting and whiting being caught. Things started to improve in late April and a large number of thornbacks, up to 15 lb, were caught between now and the end of June. We then saw a fair number of smoothound although most of them were smaller than in previous years. Throughout the summer months a fair number of mackerel were caught and we were still seeing a few at the end of November. During late summer into autumn a fair number of bass put in an appearance but these were mainly small, none in double figures, the largest being one of 6 lb. Throughout Autumn into Winter plenty of whiting, doggies and dabs were caught but this was the worst cod season we have ever known with hardly any being caught and the few that were, being very small. Let's hope for a better 2012
And better it is, Great News for Fish of the month, as from next Month's (January)Competition the prize will be a massive £60 worth of Vouchers
