Thanks to the efforts of the contractors, who got very wet in freezing conditions, the South side of the lower deck

( Deal and Walmer side ) is now open for fishing. We are not sure when work will be carried out on the remainder of the deck.

It may appear that I have forgotten to update the web site recently. The truth is that thanks to this continuing freezing weather I have had nothing to write about. Very few anglers have ventured out onto the pier and the small number that have braved the elements have found that the fishing is poor to say the least. Apart from a few small whiting, dabs and pouting and a couple of tiny codling there has been nothing caught. Roll on spring

Fish of the month

We almost had a blank month but did eventually get a winner. On 27th February Ivan Rubins of Deal caught a dogfish weighing 740 grms. Let`s hop the fishing improvesFriday 26th February
Winner of the January fish of the month competition

was a codling weighing 2kg - 400gms (5 lb) caught on the second of the month by Barry Stiles of Semington, Wiltshire
